WIKISPACES CLASSROOM (wiki)
Wiki is a 'social writing platform for education' and is a useful tool for sharing ideas with others. On the P.G.C.E., as part of the English course I had to read two books, one KS1 and the other KS2 and report briefly on what the story was about and what age range the book would be suitable for. The screenshots below are an example of my wiki entries on to the website. I chose to review a book called Rude Rabbit as my KS1 entry and The Story of Tracy Beaker, a book I read when I was at school myself, as my KS2 book.
Wikispaces is a safe platform which can be used in schools, the creator of the site has full access over the content as well as the people who have access to it and are able to view it. However, it can be fairly complex to use, as opposed to platforms such as edublog, and thus careful consideration would need to be made prior to introducing its use in the classroom.
