Does social media have a place in education?
Since starting my PGCE I have been made aware of the many benefits of social media sites for education. I have found they are useful not only in the classroom, but also for sharing ideas and resources with fellow teachers and keeping up to date with educational issues.
Twitter!
Up until recently I would not have associated Twitter with the process of gaining and sharing ideas with other teachers. Yet after having created a Twitter account; @MrsC, I have followed several people and educational organisations and found their tweets contain a plethora of information around the many aspects of education. These are now on my Twitter highlights homepage, an example of which I have uploaded below.

However, it is important to remember e-safety when using social networking websites.
